My desktop went straight from XPsp3 to Windows 8, now Windows 8.1 Pro, I skipped Windows 7 Any clues? I am not a computer wizard which you may have guessed already. Our phone are Windows 8 which won't connect and the Panasonic app apparently only works with Windows 8.1. I went through the tutorial but unsuccessful so far. I have not been able to connect to our laptop which has Windows 7. IOS has a little problem in that it usually strips the exif off and renames the files.īut even if they have got onto the iPad it is still quicker to use the card reader to re-store on the PC. I completely fail to see the point of the LumixShare cloud server because the files perforce will already be on one of your devices and can be transferred to your storage easily from there e.g. Uploading to iPad (or iPhone) ties up the iPad wifi connection, you cannot upload through it to a server, which would be nice. My ISP provides me with almost blanket coverage of the UK, I can log on to my service from virtually anywhere. You cannot upload through public wifi hotspots e.g. The iOS app, iPhone or iPad (better), works fine to control the GX7 but I am underwhlemed with the wifi upload to PC because it is so slow compared to the card reader (yes, we have a fast wireless router). Does the upgrade address anything else? Do we need to upgrade? Pegkraag edited this topic 119 months ago.ĭo you have a link to the firmware upgrade please. I succeeded to connect them, for my Gx asked me what I wanted to transfer.Than tried to send 1 photo to the imac which did not work. Finally got a connection between imac and gx7 - made certain that the name of my imac did not have any spaces between the letters than connected the imac to the gx7 and gx7 to the imac. Panasonic has upgraded their firmware for the gx7 today it is supposed to arrange wifi issues with mac.Īfter several hours of trying. Any advice or work arounds would be appreciated. Anyone have luck or solve this tricky issue. The computer sees the camera's wifi signal, but I can not get the computer to see my computer. I have searched all over the internet and a discussion forum got me close. I tried for about 2 hours last night to get the wifi to connect with my Mac. I did npt try the send while recording function yet though. Tried the remote shooting and transferring stored photo. I found this page and followed the instructions and was able to connect to my iPhone easily. I hope your enjoying your GX7 a bit more now? I don't have any other experience with Micro Four Thirds but it seems like a great little camera to me.Ĭould you tell me the procedure for the wireless remote for the iphone?thank you. Oddly enough I could figure out the remote control thing just not the imaging sending so I really appreciate the directions. It seems so simple now that I know how! lol. Easy, right? Those steps might be a bit rough because I was describing some of them from memory, but hopefully that helps.īy the way, connecting to the iPhone/IPad in order to remotely control your camera requires a completely different procedure, but that's a topic for another day. It will also appear in your "Photos" on your device. In the Image app on your device, press Playback (bottom of screen), and you should see your exported image. You should also see various prompts on your iPhone/iPad asking whether the Image app can use your photos etc. Once you press "send" on the Gx7, you'll see a progress bar. I've only tested it with a single image.ħ. You should then be able to follow the prompts on the GX7 to select send a single image or multiple images to the connected device. Hopefully the GX7 will then recognise your device (the iPad in my case).Ħ. Launch the Panasonic Image app and a stupid message will come up saying "Trying to connect / Close / QR code". Hopefully it will connect and ask you to launch the Panasonic Image app on your device (I assume you've downloaded it from the App Store).ĥ. It will ask for an Encryption Key, which is your wireless network password.Ĥ. Choose the one you want, then "Manual Connection". A list of available wireless networks should come up on your GX7. In the Wi Fi menu item on the GX7, select "Wi Fi Function", then "New Connection", "Send Images Stored in Camera", "Smartphone".ģ. You'll know it's on because a blue light on the back of the camera will blind you.Ģ. Note, although I've connected via the wireless network in my house, which might be a bit different to an iPhone using the cellular network:ġ. Here's how I've managed it on my iPad, which should be the same as an iPhone. Would much appreciate it if someone could walk me through the steps! Thanks :) and can't for the life of me work out how. Any new GX7 owners out there who have figured out the Wifi connection? I'm trying to transfer a photo from the camera to my iphone.
